More minerals = more choices => more interesting gameplay (to me at least).ĭouble beasties and caves because I find them interesting and appreciate their visits to fortresses. More volcanoes are always good, even if I rarely settle their, choices are good. I also find their existence in adventure mode but not fortress mode (and I don't think they ever show up in legends) inconsistent with Toady's vision of a fantasy world simulator. I hate boogeymen, so they always go to zero even though I rarely play adventure mode. Not going to copy the whole file in, but in general I set the end year to around 200, boogeymen to zero, increase volcanos, lower mineral scarcity, double the default amount of megabeasts, semi-megabeasts, titans, and caves, and make caves visible on map.Įnd year so there are no "first of there kind" dwarves that sprang from nothing (unless they became immortal).
